Why this role exists

A real delivery responsibility, not a generic job title.

Give participants access to specialist craft without replacing their authorship or turning the programme into technical training for its own sake.

What you will own

Responsibilities

  • Deliver practical beginner-friendly sessions in your specialist medium.
  • Teach participants to make, record and edit rather than simply producing work for them.
  • Use realistic, accessible equipment and workflows.
  • Work safely with recordings, releases, copyright, privacy and source material.
  • Coordinate with the lead practitioner so technical choices serve the story.
OUTPUTS

What we need delivered

  • A focused practical session and reusable learning material.
  • Participant skills or outputs that can continue after the session.
  • Clear handover of files, permissions or technical follow-up.
ESSENTIAL

What you should bring

  • A strong current practice in at least one relevant medium.
  • Ability to teach complete beginners with patience and clarity.
  • Good handling of consent, copyright and digital files.
USEFUL

Helpful, not mandatory

  • Participatory arts, adult learning or community media experience.
  • Own portable kit where relevant, with appropriate insurance.

Success in the role

What good looks like.

Participants gain usable skills rather than dependence on a practitioner.Technical quality improves without flattening the participant's voice.
