Why this role exists

A real delivery responsibility, not a generic job title.

Create the creative spine of the programme: a welcoming progression from first idea to an intentional story that can live in writing, audio, photography, film or a digital form chosen by the participant.

What you will own

Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead accessible storytelling workshops for a mixed-confidence adult cohort.
  • Help participants identify the story they want to tell and the form that best serves it.
  • Teach practical story structure, interviewing, editing, voice and sequencing.
  • Create space for memory and lived experience without forcing disclosure.
  • Give useful feedback while protecting participant authorship.
  • Work with specialist practitioners where deeper technical input is useful.
OUTPUTS

What we need delivered

  • Workshop plans and simple participant resources.
  • A clear creative-development path through the four workshops.
  • Practical feedback and story-readiness support.
  • Contribution to final publication and showcase preparation.
ESSENTIAL

What you should bring

  • Strong facilitation with adults of mixed confidence.
  • Substantial practice in storytelling, writing, documentary, oral history or multidisciplinary creative work.
  • Excellent consent and boundary instincts.
  • Ability to teach clearly without becoming the author of somebody else's story.
USEFUL

Helpful, not mandatory

  • Participatory or community arts experience.
  • Experience across more than one storytelling medium.
  • Knowledge of Fenland or place-based creative practice.
